Who is ThrowKat?

Visual Storyteller

Hi, I’m Kat Theroux, aka ThrowKat Media, a videographer and photographer from Wisconsin. I studied at NWTC in Green Bay, where I got an associate degree in Digital Media Technology in 2020, aka–audio and video studies. Here is where i got to kick off my passion for videography and study everything from podcasting and radio dramas to creating promotional videos and working on set.

Through the years I’ve worked on a variety of projects, including live television, where I worked on the sideline of high school football fields holding a large camera on my shoulder, with a job to keep up with the action. Working with a director live in ear, setting up and tearing down, and communicating with the a team, taught me so much about production.

Since I’ve worked in TV, I’ve done freelance work for local Wisconsin bands, like Crown and Scepter, Bottom Shelf, The Coves, and Humanity’s Downfall. I’ve produced multiple music videos, images, and social media content for bands. One of my favorite projects was the DESPERATE music video, which was mine and Crown and Scepter’s first ever music video. We turned my fiance’s garage into a full on music video set. Super proud of that project!

Aside from music, I work as an in-house photographer and videographer. You can see a lot of my work on DLT Trading’s website, social media platforms, and YouTube. I’ve been working with DLT for 3 years and have had the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas for SHOT Show and Atlanta for Blade show over my years of working for the company. At DLT, I am the main force behind the camera and I do everything from promotional graphics to email planning, to producing videos for both long form and short form content. With a the need for a speedy turn around and to quickly adapt to sudden changes, i’ve learned a skill to adapt and overcome since day one and my first Blade Show Atlanta really taught me how to overcome and adapt!
